Anthony Hewitt

Tony Hewitt
Having obtained a first degree in Geology and Physical Geography and a masters in Engineering Geology from Leeds. Tony started his professional career as a Geotechnical Engineer for a large regional consultancy in Sheffield working on Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Retail projects. In 1996 he established the new Yorkshire region of a Nottinghamshire based multi-discipline consultancy.
In 1998 Tony established a North West Regional Office for a multi-discipline consultancy based in Warrington and was appointed Associate in 2000. In 2005, Tony started Brownfield Solutions Limited with James Jacob.
Tony is a Chartered Geologist, Chartered Scientist and European Geologist, he has undertaken expert witness work for both Planning Inquiries and Civil Law cases.
Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family. When not acting as "Dad's Taxi" he occasionally persuades the family to climb mountains, go off road cycling or to camp in wet fields.

James Jacob

James graduated from Portsmouth Polytechnic with a degree in Geology and started work in the oil industry first as a Mudlogger on oil rigs then as a Geophysicist. Before joining a national site investigation contractor as a project geologist and was subsequently promoted to Senior Geologist.
In 1997 he joined an environmental consultancy in Cheshire as a Senior Project Manager, where he became involved in the detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments of contaminated sites.
In 2001 he left to join a multi-discipline consultancy as Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer. Leaving in 2005, James established Brownfield Solutions Limited with Tony Hewitt.
When he is not retelling yet another of his stories from his "contracting days" (yawn!) James spends his free time with his wife and three young daughters and occasionally squeezes in time to ride motorbikes, go hill walking and follow a blue football team from Manchester.
